Letters from classmates

Gerrie,

I finally got some time to write you back after the Reunion. I sure had a lot of fun but it seemed like I only had a small amount of time to see everyone. I'm going to have to figure out how to spend more time with everyone. There were a lot of things I wanted a lot of people to catch me up on. Whoever has got an e-mail address that you can forward to me, I would appreciate it greatly. I can start correspondence easily this way.

I saw Lucy's letter you posted after the Reunion. I met her husband Bill, & on occasion we make it to their neck of the woods & I would like to visit. I don't know how in the world I can get to Montana, but I'd like to visit with her & her husband. I plan on working another 10 years so that I can afford to get the girls through school & then they're on their own. I think Idaho, (Jane Kinn), Montana, (Sharon Miller), California, (Danny Howbert), Oklahoma, (Jim Crawford), & Arizona, (Ed Stewart) would be great stopping points of interest.

Maggie is now 14 & she will start her "freshman" year at St. Wendelin tomorrow. Molly is going to be 13 in November & she starts the 7th grade tommorow as well. My Dad graduated from St. Wendelin in '34, my sister Karen in "59, brother Bob in "62, me in "64, my sister Becky in "69 & my sister Kris in I think "74. All of my wife's siblings graduated from St. Wendelin as well. For us, it is a joy & a comfort knowing that our children are going to school there in 2004. I've lived in several places since I got out of the service & for me Fostoria is still a pretty good place to be. When I was a kid I couldn't wait to get away. I'm glad I'm back.

Anyhow, you can post any or all of this letter to you on the class website.

Again, I need e-mails & the disk with pics.

Thanks & best regards,

Jim Huth

Hi former classmates of 1964:

Just wanted all who attended the 40th. class reunion [know] that my husband Bill & I had a great time at the reunion and the night before. And to all those who did not attend you really really really missed a good time. The food was good the chatting with everyone and the music was great. Also the Mass was very nice. I sure miss the old church where we all went. But times change.

My husband Bill has been retired from the State of Michigan for 6 yrs.

I am a cashier at a local grocery store and have been there 16 yrs. Its the first place I have ever worked that I get 4 weeks vacation.

We have 2 sons; Marc is 34 and is married and lives in England. He was in the Air Force but is out and is a paramedic on the helicopter. His wife Helen is a nurse and works with autistic children. No children. We have been to see them 2x and are going back next summer. Todd is 31 and lives with his girlfriend and works at Wal Mart Dist. No children. So therefore Bill & I have no grandchildren. O well'' We just purchased a new home outside of our town of Coldwater, Michigan. We love it. Now that I have rattled on I better go.

[Note:] Please place an e-mail [on this web site] and let me know what you are doing.

Lucy Moulton

Ed Stewart sent a note to tell us he is living in Arizona and is “dealing” Blackjack at Casino del Sol, in Tucson. He has invited classmates who might get out that way to look him up.

Ed plans on attending the 40th reunion to.... “enjoy the friendships that had been established when we were young, I can’t believe it’s been 40 years!!!”

Ed would like to keep in touch with classmates through email and asks, “......where are you Jim (Mash)....”

God Bless All

Sharon (Slater) Kreinbrink lives with her husband, Carl, in Evanston, Wyoming.

She writes: “I received your flyer today announcing a 40th class reunion. I hope all will go as planned for those who can attend. With both my parents and younger sister dead, I just don’t believe I’m coming to Ohio.”

Sharon is quite active in her Catholic Parish. She is co-president of the local Council of Catholic Women and treasurer of the Deanery Level which is part of the State and National Council.

Sharon and Carl love the outdoors and since his work schedule provides 3-day weekends, the two of them spend a good deal of time camping, fishing and canoeing. In addition, Sharon still has her 1963 Ford convertible which she and Carl take “parading”.

They have 4 children: Natalie (34) is a family practice doctor; married, but no children yet. James (33) is married with a 12 year old daughter. Robert (25) is married with a 6 year old daughter. Christa (21) is single and in college.

Sharon closes her letter by saying, “May God bless and be with you in this project and always.”

Jim Crawford and his wife, Rose, plan on visiting family in Fostoria next summer and attending the 40th reunion. Jim hopes to win the contest for the one who has changed the least!

Jim writes.... “Rose and I moved to Oklahoma just shy of three years ago from the Phoenix area. Figure on staying there the rest of our lives. We have forty acres that are just beautiful with hills, grass, trees, deer, and other critters. We built the house and barn ourselves. Have horses and donkeys and probably next year, some cows and chickens. Fulfilling the back to the earth dreams of the 60's and 70's. Ha!”

“Love you all and really do think of the class of ‘64 often.”

"God Bless you.”

Hello everyone!

If you don't make it for the 40th I'll be awfully disappointed! As a mother of 3, and grandmother of 2, I'll come ready to dazzle everyone with pictures of my beautiful family...most recently, pictures from my daughter's wedding on July 17th, 2004! Please bring your beautiful pictures too!

In the meantime, I'll be content to make my way into the 37th year of nursing, as a patient care supervisor at Toledo Hospital. Because I had such a great experience at St. Wendelin, with all of you, I went back to college! In a few more years I'll have my English degree. Any ideas for a best selling novel????

The island hopping cruise sounds like great fun. Anyone care to rent a bike and peddle their way to the shops and winery?? As a matter of fact, I think we should do the monument BEFORE the winery don't you??!!

It's been 10 years, and I'm really looking forward to seeing all of you again.

Always,

Sue Bennett Johnson
